Job Purpose Planning and implementation of planned maintenance of all electrical equipment of WTP ETP & ensure 100% availability of spares tools and tackles Job Context & Major Challenges Grasim pulp & fibre business has grown over a period of last 50 years and has matured in terms of cost, quality & productivity. Today Grasim Viscose fibre is branded as `Birla Viscose' and is considered as most environment friendly textile grade viscose fibre known for its feel & comfort. Birla Cellulose plant has put up new plant to further strengthen the group's market leadership in the fibre business and expand its share in the world market. Birla Cellulosic is a Green Field Project of Grasim Industries Ltd. The project was conceptualised in the year 1994 and was fully commissioned in 1998. The unit has an installed capacity of 350 TPD of Viscose Staple Fibre and is the most modern Viscose Staple Fibre producing unit of Grasim. As pulp & Fibre business, with its four manufacturing streams of Viscose Staple Fibre of 75 TPD, 65TPD Carbon di Sulphide (CS2), 350 TPD of Sulphuric Acid, 2 x 15 MW,1 x 10 MW Thermal Power Plant and other auxiliary plants like Water Treatment, Demineralisation & Effluent Treatment Plant etc. Birla Cellulosic has entered into business at a time when globalisation is on its peak and quality requirements of the customers are changing very fast. Providing service with zero breakdowns of all the electrical equipment is of utmost importance. Trouble free operation of electrical equipment by implementing the planned maintenance, not only eliminates breakdowns but also helps the process in maintaining stable operating conditions necessary for attaining final product quality. The major challenges for the position are :- Implementation of best maintenance practices for ensuring uninterrupted & trouble free service of electrical equipment for smooth operation of the process which is continuous in nature and any interruption / breakdown is detrimental to the quality of the product Maximum manpower productivity & minimising the maintenance cost especially while the process handles the chemicals / gases which are aggressively corrosive and affect electrical / electronic equipment very severely. Ensure Planned Maintenance of Viscose & Utility process equipment's in view of non -availability of machines. More often, Customers and Competitors aggressive quality standards forced us to formulate process changes and thereafter maintain quality parameters within stipulated time To ensure Healthy work environment for Electrical System due to highly corrosive environment Managing spares inventory of imported items thereby maintaining low inventory cost Technological changes in Electrical field enforce to upgrade and keep track of obsolete categories item. This has high impact on operational/capex cost Enhance Skill level of the Technicians, which at present is forcing Engineers to involve at the grass root level activity. Bring a cultural change in the Safety aspect of the team, and preparing them to adopt new standards Key Result Areas KRA (Accountabilities) (Max 1325 Characters) Supporting Actions (Max 1325 Characters) KRA1 PLANNED MAINTENANCE To implement the initiatives to upkeep the electrical equipment to ensure uninterrupted production/operations 1. Ensure implementation of preventive & predictive maintenance to minimize breakdowns & eliminate unplanned stoppages. Ensure implementation of equipment up gradation plans to minimize equipment downtime & improve MTBF. Maximize availability of all the electrical equipment by preparing suitable maintenance schedules. Regular monitoring of PM schedules for compliance & systematic implementation. Monitor preventive maintenance jobs to restore the equipment to abnormality free status. KRA10 PROJECT & DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES 1. Ensure prompt support in implementation of new schemes within the budgeted cost & time frame by organizing resources. Ensure implementation of recommendations emerging from breakdowns analysis & carryout studies for identifying weak areas & take corrective steps to pre-empt breakdowns. Study & develop schemes for improvements in electrical system. Organize electrical work related to various developmental schemes approved by the management & monitor the progress. Study various proposals for energy saving and implement feasible schemes. Analyze all the breakdowns & prepare recommendations for corrective action. Organize predictive maintenance to identify weak areas. Organize remnant life analysis (RLA) studies for major equipment and take suitable corrective steps. KRA2 PLANNED MAINTENANCE To implement the initiatives to upkeep the electrical equipment to ensure uninterrupted production/operations 5. Identifying and procuring the indigenous/bought out equipment spares and accessories by proper planning and follow up inspecting and accepting the incoming materials with respect to indents raised. Provide the services & equipment needed for new products and formulation changes. To develop guideline & check points for immediate restoration of breakdowns & emergency handling. Allocate actual resources as per priority of Viscose process. Kra3 Quality Implement electrical maintenance activities of VSF plant so as to ensure optimum production loss & delivery within target cost & quality Parameters 1. Execute implementation activities of ABG Standard’s. Prepare formulate PM checklist with equipment history updates. Update the checklists as per WCM requirements. Prepare maintain, and update Cannibalization sheets for Standardization / Rationalization of spares w.r.t make and maintaining minimum stock level. Prepare RCA and implement learning’s to ensure zero breakdowns. Kra4 Quality Implement electrical maintenance activities of VSF plant so as to ensure optimum production loss & delivery within target cost & quality Parameters 5. Attend day to day customers call and closing them there itself. Allocate resources for execution of project activities with respect to planned timeline. Maintaining of Energy Management System to monitor the power quality and power consumption monitoring. KRA5 SAFETY Ensure compliance of safety norms & statutory regulations for electrical equipment & personnel.. 1. Ensure compliance of safety norms & statutory regulations for electrical equipment & personnel. Monitor optimum performance of electrical system for all process requirements. Make the electrical network available for best reliability. Monitor implementation of safety procedures & implement safety requirements in working through regular monthly reviews. Develop a culture of behavioral safety by way of training, learning/sharing, horizontal learning deployment. To efficiently use Incident Management system to report incidents, Unsafe Acts & Conditions in the Enablon. To actively participate in the ACT groups of the unit and work on action plans to mitigate the abnormalities. Kra6 Cost To implement cost reduction plan/measures. 1. Achieve minimum maintenance costs to contribute to maximizing overall profitability. Ensure timely implementation of schemes for power savings for enhanced profitability. Reduce operational cost by implementing various cost saving initiatives. Working upon cost estimation of small modification & improvement project & its proposal making. Plan & review maintenance budgets periodically. Plan procurement of spares etc. to reduce inventory and reduce incidents of replacement. Establish & monitor quality of spares. Initiate corrective measures to prevent recurring breakdowns KRA7 SYSTEM MANAGEMENT Ensure implementation of (WCM) concepts & other TPM / TQM initiatives. Ensure QMS/EMS is followed 1. Check implementation of WCM concepts in all work areas. Implementation of WCM sub committee working by all the teams. Prepare IMS, WCM, ISO,OHSAS documents to meet the respective standard requirements Kra8 People Developemnt Identify & recommend suitable training & skill development of the people to build a competitive work force 1. Rewarding the best practices and ensure horizontal deployment Motivate the performance of subordinates by involving in Kaizens, connecting them with organizational goals. Skill Enhancement of the Team by way of Training and awareness Session. Conduct training sessions to Staff, Technician & Contract persons monthly on skill development and safety. Kra9 Environment To provide & implement the suggestions of operational parameters to control plant operation to meet all the environment standards. 1. Implement Eco friendly maintenance practice & waste disposal system to enable ISO 14001 compliances.
