Job Title: Purchase Manager — Fire Safety Systems (Automotive Sector)

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
Plan, execute, and monitor daily and monthly production schedules in line with business targets
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials
Drive productivity improvements, reduce rework, and control manufacturing costs
Coordinate closely with Purchase, Quality, Projects, and Service teams
Technical & Process Control
Oversee assembly, testing, commissioning, and packaging of fire safety systems
Ensure adherence to technical drawings, SOPs, BOMs, and work instructions
Support implementation of new products, variants, and process improvements
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with quality standards, inspection plans, and internal audits
Support certifications, homologation, and customer audits
Handle NCRs, CAPA, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Manpower & Shift Management
Manage shop-floor teams including supervisors, technicians, and helpers
Allocate shifts, monitor attendance, discipline, and productivity
Train and upskill technicians to improve quality and efficiency
Inventory & Coordination
Coordinate with Stores for material availability, WIP control, and dispatch readiness
Ensure proper handling of tools, fixtures, jigs, and consumables
Maintain accurate production and dispatch records
Safety & Discipline
Ensure safety practices, housekeeping, and 5S on the shop floor
Enforce discipline, standard operating procedures, and reporting structures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in
Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Industrial Engineering
Minimum 8–12 years
of experience in manufacturing, with at least
3–5 years in a factory leadership role
Prior experience in automotive, fire safety systems, industrial equipment, or electro-mechanical assemblies
preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong technical understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
Proven experience in running day-to-day factory operations independently
Ability to read drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
Good knowledge of quality systems, audits, and compliance
Strong people-management and shop-floor leadership skills
Hands-on, problem-solving mindset (not a desk-only role)
Comfortable working in fast-growing, high-responsibility environments
