Export Analyst

Position Overview

Responsible for: Contributing to the sales/profit objectives by providing seamless order management including receiving and processing orders from international customers (wholly owned, joint ventures, third parties - order to delivery) for the North American business units. Participates in the development of solutions that will contribute to North American Export sales and profit growth by utilizing analytical tools to measure service level performance, and cost reduction measures. Perform necessary administrative functions that support the entire North American Logistics group.

Description

• Manage export orders from receipt through shipment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with Distribution Centers, carriers, and freight forwarders to ensure efficient scheduling and on-time delivery.
• Prepare, review, and maintain all required export documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin). Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, Incoterms, and country-specific documentation requirements
• Serve as the primary point of contact for export customers and internal teams regarding order status and shipment coordination. Resolve order and shipment issues promptly, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
• Generate and analyze reports to track shipment performance, compliance, and customer service metrics.
• Manages financial aspects of orders which include invoicing customers.
• Identify opportunities to streamline export processes and improve efficiency across the team.

Required Qualifications

Level of Education and Discipline:

• Bachelor's Degree in Customer Service, Transportation, Distribution, Logistics, Materials Management or Supply Chain

Experience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Business Administration, Distribution, Logistics, Transportation, International Business or related field. 2 + years' experience in a business office environment. Preferred experience in a customer service. Analytical experience required. Knowledge of International customers (Consumer Food Manufacturers, Food Service, and Consumer Product Goods) and multiple products (flavors, seasonings, ingredients, coatings, etc.…) . Knowledge of Supply Chain area processes including manufacturing, inventory management, and logistics. Thorough understanding of foreign trade/regulations and of foreign market conditions.
• Strong negotiations skills for interactions with customers, freight forwarders. Contact with government officials regarding appropriate documentation needed. Arrange inspectors for US and Canada. Consistent interactions with internal & external including Manufacturing Plants, Distribution, Quality, FSS, Supply Chain, Pricing, Regulatory, Technical and Account Managers.
• Technical - Experience working with Freight Forwarders, and Foreign Trade knowledge . Technical - Must be at an Intermediate level or greater in MS Office, including Word and Excel. Administrative Websites – DHL, UPS, Concur, Cisco, Recall Storage . Technical - SAP – Order Management

This role supports business units (consumer and industrial) in the U.S. and Canada. Ability to handle frequent changes on demand and proactively investigate complex issues and conduct root cause analysis to resolve problems. Makes judgements based on analysis of factual information, previous practice and experience. Collaborates with internal stakeholders and International Trade Compliance team to provide efficient export order fulfillment. Direct impact is on Customers, Distribution Centers, Manufacturing, Sales and other North American Supply Chain sub functions and shared impact on Global Supply Chain.
