Job Title: Executive / Senior Executive – Procurement & Material Planning
Department: Supply Chain Management
Reports to: Manager – Supply Chain / Procurement Lead
Role Summary: The role is responsible for managing procurement, material planning, and inventory control for raw materials, bought-out items, and IUTN parts. The objective is to ensure seamless material availability in line with production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The position demands close coordination with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams.
Key Responsibilities: Handle procurement activities, including scheduling, follow-ups, and Bill of Material (BOM) matching for raw materials, bought-out items, and IUTN parts.
Ensure zero production loss due to material shortages.
Manage procurement via KANBAN systems and continuously monitor and enhance its efficiency.
Oversee timely dispatch of vendor-supplied materials to subcontractors and ensure on-time receipt of finished goods.
Analyze daily and weekly material shortages and initiate corrective actions proactively.
Ensure adherence to the Material Inspection Plan for incoming supplies.
Execute weekly MRP runs, review demand changes, and communicate updates to suppliers promptly.
Manage Engineering Release (ER) implementations impacting material requirements.
Achieve 100% supplier schedule adherence, including spare parts supply.
Follow Daily Work Management (DWM) practices in alignment with Deming principles.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Vendor Quality, Strategic Sourcing, and Component Development teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Monitor and control inventory levels within set targets and norms.
Minimize material variance between physical stock and ERP (SAP) systems.
Actively participate in Cross-Functional Teams (CFT) and Quality Circle (QC) initiatives, with a focus on cost-saving measures and process improvements.
Monitor line throwbacks, GR rejections, and drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) in coordination with quality teams.
Desired Candidate Profile: Educational Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or related engineering streams.
A diploma or certification in Materials Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics is an added advantage.
Experience:3–7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or material planning in automotive, engineering, manufacturing, or similar industries.
Skills & Competencies: Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Procurement Processes, KANBAN, MRP, SAP/MM (or any ERP system).
Understanding of BOM structures, manufacturing processes, and inventory control.
Good grasp of material flow, logistics, and production support activities.
Behavioral & Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to handle pressure and multitask in dynamic production environments.
Good team player with effective collaboration skills across functions.
Focused on continuous improvement, accuracy, and operational excellence.
