Job Description

Electronics Component Purchase Engineer


Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and procure electronic components (semiconductors, PCBs, sensors, connectors, passives, actives, etc.) from

    global and local suppliers

    .
  • Coordinate with

    international distributors and manufacturers

    to secure best pricing, lead times, and reliable supply chains.
  • Identify

    alternate sources and substitute components

    to mitigate risks due to shortages, EOL (End of Life), or obsolescence.
  • Manage

    import documentation, customs clearance support, and logistics coordination

    for overseas shipments.
  • Collaborate closely with

    R&D, design, and production teams

    to align component procurement with project timelines.
  • Conduct

    cost analysis and BOM (Bill of Materials)

    optimization to support costeffective product development.
  • Maintain and update

    Approved Vendor Lists (AVL)

    and regularly assess supplier performance in terms of quality, compliance, and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with

    RoHS/REACH

    and other international standards/regulations.
  • Monitor

    global market trends

    in electronics and provide insights for strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Work with finance and logistics teams for smooth processing of

    purchase orders, invoices, LC (Letter of Credit), and international payments.

     


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in

    Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Supply Chain Management

    .
  • 2–6 years of proven experience in

    electronics component procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.

  • Strong technical knowledge of

    electronic components, datasheets, and specifications.

  • Hands-on experience in working with

    global suppliers/distributors (Mouser, DigiKey, Arrow, Avnet, etc.).

    Good understanding of

    import/export procedures, international trade regulations, and logistics management.

  • Proficiency in

    ERP systems

    (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and MS Office.
  • Excellent skills in

    negotiation, vendor management, and cross-border communication.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in

    electronics manufacturing or EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) industry.

  • Knowledge of

    BOM cost-down strategies

    and supplier benchmarking.
  • Familiarity with

    global supply chain risk management and trend forecasting.

  • Ability to work across

    multiple time zones

    with suppliers in Asia, Europe, and the US.
