Job Description – Electrical Project Head (Residential Projects)

Position: Electrical Project Head

Department: Projects / MEP

Experience: 10–20+ Years (Residential High-Rise/Township Projects)

Location: Thane

Reporting To: Project Director / Operations Head

1. Job Purpose

The Electrical Project Head will lead, manage, and monitor all electrical works across residential project sites, ensuring timely execution, quality compliance, cost control, and coordination with consultants, contractors, and internal teams. The role involves strategic planning, technical supervision, tender evaluation, and ensuring that electrical works meet statutory norms and project specifications.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Project Planning & Execution

• Prepare a complete electrical execution plan, resource planning & timelines.
• Review GFC (Good For Construction) drawings, SLDs, load calculations, and technical specifications.
• Ensure execution of HT/LT systems, DG systems, MDB/SMDB panels, cabling, earthing, lighting, and home wiring.
• Monitor execution progress through daily/weekly site reviews.
• Resolve site-level technical challenges and provide engineering solutions.

B. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead electrical site engineers, supervisors, billing engineers, and contractors.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, plumbing & firefighting teams for seamless work.
• Liaise with architects, MEP consultants, and corporate engineering teams.

C. Vendor, Contractor & Material Management

• Evaluate and approve vendor/contractor quotations (technical & commercial).
• Verify BOQs, WOs, material submittals, shop drawings, and samples.
• Ensure timely procurement of electrical materials (cables, DBs, switches, panels, lighting, etc.).
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and approved makes.

D. Statutory Compliance & Liaison

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety codes, IS standards, CEIG norms.
• Coordinate for statutory permissions (electricity load sanction, meter installation, inspections).
• Ensure safety practices during live electrical work.

E. Quality Control & Safety

• Conduct periodic quality audits of electrical work.
• Oversee testing & commissioning of all electrical systems.
• Maintain strict adherence to electrical safety protocols and risk mitigation.

F. Billing, Budgeting & Cost Control

• Approve measurements, contractor bills, and rate analysis.
• Track electrical budget vs. actual expenditure.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

G. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain site documentation and DPR/WPR/MPR reports.
• Update project tracking dashboards.
• Ensure proper documentation of commissioning tests & handover packs.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HT/LT distribution, DG systems, transformers, panels, earthing, and residential wiring standards.
• Excellent understanding of electrical safety codes (IE Rules, NBC, and IS standards).
• Strong leadership, team management, and contractor handling skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and electrical design tools.
• Strong problem-solving, planning & coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver quality results within deadlines.

4. Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering (considered with strong experience)
• Certifications in electrical safety or project management are an added advantage.

5. Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10–20 years of experience in large residential
• Experience in high-rise buildings, townships, and large MEP coordination.
• Proven track record leading a team of electrical engineers at multiple sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.70 - ₹100,000.90 per month
