Position Title: EHS and Maintenance Engineer
Location: Bengaluru (Technical Centre, Test Centre, and Manufacturing Plant)

Role Overview:- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHS and Maintenance Engineer to lead Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and ensure efficient maintenance operations across our automotive bearing manufacturing plant, test centre, and technical centre in Bengaluru. This role demands strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices combined with technical expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance for precision engineering and automotive manufacturing environments.
The role will focus on developing and implementing EHS systems, driving compliance and safety culture, and ensuring maximum equipment uptime through robust maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities:-
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS):Policy & Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local and international standards (OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Ensure all permits, licenses, and regulatory documentation are current and compliant.
Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions.
Incident Management:
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for management and regulatory bodies.
Training & Awareness:
Design and deliver EHS training covering hazard communication, emergency preparedness, fire safety, LOTO, confined space entry, etc.
Promote a strong safety culture through awareness programs and employee engagement.
Environmental Management:
Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams responsibly.
Implement sustainability and energy conservation initiatives.
Monitor compliance with environmental regulations (air, water, and waste).
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and implement emergency response plans (fire drills, evacuation, disaster recovery).
Liaise with external agencies and emergency services when required.
Maintenance:
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance plans for plant and technical centre equipment (CNC machines, grinders, furnaces, assembly lines, test rigs, specialized testing equipment).
Use CMMS to plan, track, and record maintenance activities.
Breakdown Maintenance:
Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement quick, effective repairs.
Coordinate with production to schedule and prioritize downtime effectively.
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis:
Perform in-depth troubleshooting of recurring failures in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Implement long-term corrective actions to improve reliability.
Spares & Inventory Management:
Manage spare parts inventory with focus on critical components availability and cost optimization.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive maintenance improvements, equipment upgrades, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new equipment installations, commissioning, and optimization.
Facility Maintenance:
Oversee utilities (HVAC, electrical systems, compressed air, plumbing) and infrastructure upkeep.
Manage contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.
Qualifications & Skills:- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or related field.
Experience: ~10 years of progressive experience in EHS and Maintenance roles within automotive/precision engineering manufacturing (bearing manufacturing preferred).
Strong knowledge of EHS standards and certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OSHA).
Hands-on expertise in CNC machining, grinding, heat treatment, and assembly processes.
Proficiency with CMMS and maintenance planning tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Experience with test centre and technical centre machinery is an added advantage.
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage employees across levels.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is desirable.
