Director of Hardware Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete product development lifecycle – from concept to mass production – across hardware design and embedded systems.
• Drive innovation in

  AC-DC and DC-DC SMPS

  designs using topologies like Flyback, Forward, Full Bridge, Half Bridge, and Push-Pull Converters.
• Design and validate high-power

  battery chargers

  and power electronics control hardware (digital and analog).
• Collaborate cross-functionally to prototype, test, and deploy hardware solutions in the field.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards:

  UL, CSA, IEC, IEEE, EU, EN

  .
• Perform engineering analyses such as

  DFMEA, Derating, FMECA, Theta-JC, Reliability

  , etc.
• Select and design key hardware components:

  MOSFETs, PWM ICs, capacitors, drivers

  , etc.
• Work on embedded control systems and firmware architecture for smart energy devices.
• Develop test procedures and verification methods for hardware components.
• Create complete product documentation – system diagrams, flowcharts, architecture docs, etc.
• Capture and translate product requirements into detailed hardware/system specifications.
• Support R&D for electrification, control systems, and next-gen smart grid infrastructure.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in

  Electrical or Electronics Engineering

  from NIT/IIT or equivalent (B.E./M.E./B.Tech/M.Tech).
• Minimum

  4 years of hands-on experience

  in hardware design and development for power electronics or smart energy products.
• Proven expertise in:

• Firmware Development

  , Embedded C/C++

• Analog/Digital circuit design

  using Altium, OrCAD or similar EDA tools.

• Simulation tools

  such as

  PSpice

  .
• Working with

  oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers

  and similar tools.
• Designing for

  high-voltage systems

  , IoT-enabled smart metering, and grid-interactive devices.
• Sound knowledge of

  Power Electronics, Analog Circuits, Microcontrollers

  , and

  Mini/Micro Grid systems

  .
• Experience in product-based companies is a

  must

  .
• Strong grasp of

  DFMEA

  ,

  prototyping

  , and

  compliance testing

  methodologies.
• Clear communicator with the ability to document and present technical material effectively.
• Team player with strong leadership and project management skills.
