Job Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. As a Desktop Support Engineer at Hyperloop Technology, you will be the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues with their desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our internal systems run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teams to maintain high productivity and meet their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
User Support: Provide hands-on and remote support for internal users, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, operating systems, and software applications.
System Setup & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, software, and hardware for new hires and existing team members.
Hardware/Software Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime.
Technical Assistance: Assist users in resolving technical issues with productivity software, VPN setup, and network connectivity.
System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as operating system updates, application patches, and security scans.
Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of service requests, issues, and resolutions in our ticketing system.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues and support company-wide IT initiatives.
Inventory Management: Track hardware inventory, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals, and manage the lifecycle of hardware assets.
Security Awareness: Follow company security protocols to ensure the safety of sensitive data and protect against unauthorized access.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems; basic knowledge of networking and Wi-Fi configurations.
Hardware Knowledge: Experience with troubleshooting and repairing common desktop and laptop hardware components.
Customer Service: Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear, user-friendly explanations of technical issues.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to think critically and troubleshoot under pressure.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize issues effectively.
Security Knowledge: Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices and how to implement them in a corporate environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows 10/11, or equivalent IT certifications are a plus.
Experience: Previous experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or a similar role.
Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with basic networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN setup.
