We are also in Tetra Heat Pump (Tetraheat) were our core focus is on designing, manufacturing, and integrating industrial heat pump systems to boost sustainability and reduce costs in manufacturing processes ( https://tetraheat.com/) We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented *Design Engineer* to join our team specializing in the design and development of heat pump systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end engineering process, including component sizing and selection, equipment layout, creation of detailed manufacturing and electrical drawings, and testing of both the control panel and heat pump unit. This role demands a solid understanding of thermodynamics, refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical design principles. Responsibilities 1. Design & Engineering : * Perform component sizing and selection for compressors, heat exchangers, expansion valves, fans, and pumps based on system requirements. * Design equipment layouts considering space constraints, maintenance access, and performance efficiency. * Prepare 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings for mechanical components using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar. * Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for heat pump control systems. 2. Documentation & BOM * Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications for procurement and manufacturing. * Prepare assembly and installation documentation including P\&ID diagrams, user manuals, and compliance documentation. 3. Testing & Validation: * Conduct functional testing of control panels, including relay logic, PLC programming (if applicable), and sensor integration. * Execute performance and safety testing of the complete heat pump unit to verify conformance with design specifications and regulatory standards. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to design, wiring, or thermal performance. 4. Cross-functional Collaboration: * Work closely with R&D, Production, Electrical, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacturing. * Support field teams during installation and commissioning as needed. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related field. * 2–5 years of experience in the design of HVAC or heat pump systems. * Proficient in heat load calculations, component selection software, and CAD tools. * Knowledge of electrical circuit design, control logic, and testing equipment. * Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IEC, ISO). Preferred Skills: * Experience with control systems and instrumentation. * Understanding of refrigerants, refrigeration cycles, and environmental compliance. * Hands-on experience with *testing instruments such as pressure gauges, multimeters, flow meters, and data loggers. Work Environment: * Split between *office-based design work* and *shop floor testing/lab activities*. * Occasional travel to customer sites or manufacturing locations. *Compensation:* Negotiable based on Experience.
