Deputy Manager

Purpose/Objective

"Site Safety Incharge is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of site-specific safety plans, monitor compliance with safety regulations, and actively engage in capacity and capability building for employees and contractors. The role is also responsible for implementing contractor safety management systems, auditing safety processes, and ensuring the successful closure of safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe observations.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Ground-Level HSE Implementation: Ensure the day-to-day implementation of the HSEMS, assisting in its deployment in consultation with the Site Head. Conduct daily site inspections, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and addressing deviations immediately. Contractor Safety Management: Prepare, review, and monitor contractor safety plans, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and conducting regular audits. Organize capability-building workshops and provide ongoing guidance to contractors for improved safety performance. Incident Prevention and Response: Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring closure of actions and communication of lessons learned to all stakeholders. Regularly review and audit site HIRA and JSA to incorporate learnings from incidents and updates in risk scenarios. Safety Training and Awareness: Conduct regular toolbox talks, training sessions, and employee competency assessments based on Training Need Identification (TNI). Promote safety culture through awareness campaigns, safety posters, and communication of best practices. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and regularly update the site-specific Disaster Management Plan and Emergency Response Plan, ensuring employee readiness through drills. Maintain records of safety drills, assessments, and action points for improvement. Ensuring Regulatory Compliance: Monitor site compliance with IMS and ISO 45001:2018 standards, assisting in audits and ensuring all findings are addressed. Maintain and update safety data, ensuring accurate reporting through digital platforms like SAP or Gensuite. Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related fields). Advanced Diploma/ Post Diploma in Industrial Safety. Certifications in project safety and ISO standards (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 45001, or IMS certifications). Work Experience: 13+ years of experience in site safety management, preferably in renewable energy projects. Hands-on experience in risk assessments, incident investigation, and implementing site-level safety practices.
