Currently House of Shipping is recruiting for Deputy Manager/ Manager- Accounts Receivable for a Leading global freight forwarding company.

Background and experience:

• Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in AR, with with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role in Freight Forwarding
• Well-versed with statutory norms and documentation required during customer onboarding.
• Strong analytical ability to understand and interpret financials and evaluate customer risk.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, especially for dealing with customers across India.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with credit control frameworks and collection KPIs.

Job purpose

We are looking for a dynamic professional to manage and strengthen the Accounts Receivable function. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in customer onboarding, financial verification, and credit risk management, with hands-on experience in dealing with customers across various regions

Main tasks and responsibilities

• End-to-end management of the Accounts Receivable function including billing, collections, reconciliations, and dispute resolution.
• Oversee customer onboarding process, ensuring statutory documentation and verification (GST, PAN, etc.) are in place.
• Conduct financial reviews of prospective customers to assess creditworthiness using basic financial statements and ratio analysis.
• Coordinate with internal departments including Sales, Operations, and Legal to streamline collections and resolve issues. Setting weekly AR calls with the sales team.
• Maintain regular follow-ups with customers pan-India for collections, dispute resolution, and account reconciliations. Need to visit customers wherever required.
• Prepare and monitor aging reports, identify high-risk accounts, and take proactive steps to minimize overdue receivables.
• Track AR performance, prepare MIS reports, and present key updates to senior management.
• Improve AR processes by introducing better practices, automation, and effective controls.
• Credit review of customers on a quarterly basis.
• Quarterly TDS reconciliation based on Form 26AS, books of accounts, and TDS certificates or advice received from customers.
• Supervise and mentor the AR team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and team development.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
