Job Description

Data Engineering Manager Role DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our team of data engineers and drive data strategy for our clients. You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and platforms that power business intelligence and machine learning/AI initiatives. This role requires a combination of deep technical expertise, team leadership abilities, and strategic vision to transform data infrastructure and practices. ResponsibilitiesLead a team of data engineers, providing technical mentorship, performance management, and career development guidanceDesign and oversee implementation of modern data architecture leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and industry-leading data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric)Establish data engineering best practices, coding standards, and technical documentation processesDevelop and execute data platform roadmaps aligned with business objectives and technical innovationOptimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-effectivenessCollaborate with data science, analytics, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver tailored data solutionsOversee the implementation of data governance, security, and compliance measuresDrive adoption of DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI/CD, automated testing etc.Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential to enhance our data capabilities QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.12+ years of experience in data engineering roles with at least 3 years in a leadership positionExpert knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop ecosystem) and modern data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow)hands-on experience across the modern data ecosystem, including big data technologies, cloud platforms, and advanced analytics solutions. Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native data servicesHands-on experience with industry-leading data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft FabricStrong background in both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) database systemsExperience implementing and managing data monitoring solutions (Grafana, Ganglia, etc.)Proven track record of implementing automated testing frameworks for data pipelines and applicationsKnowledge of AI/ML technologies and how they integrate with data platformsExcellent understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing conceptsOutstanding leadership, communication, and project management skillsAbility to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholderscontact jobs@intellisearchonline.net
