Role Summary:
We are looking for a CDP Engineer (Level 2) to support the design, implementation, and management of Customer Data Platform (CDP) solutions, contributing to customer data unification and activation across enterprise systems. This role will focus on building data pipelines, configuring CDP integrations, and maintaining data quality within platforms such as Lytics, Optimizely, Twilio Segment, or other composable CDPs.You will work closely with senior engineers, solution architects, and cross-functional teams to implement customer data strategies, ensure data accuracy, and support personalization and experimentation initiatives across digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain CDP integrations, ensuring accurate data ingestion from multiple sources (web, mobile, CRM, POS, etc.).
- Support the implementation of event taxonomies, identity resolution rules, and profile unification under senior guidance.
- Build and maintain data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte) to connect CDP with downstream systems (marketing automation, CMS, analytics, etc.).
- Develop customer segments using behavioral, transactional, and demographic attributes for marketing activation.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and consent management standards (GDPR/CCPA).
- Assist in QA processes: validate event tracking, monitor data freshness, and troubleshoot integration issues.
- Partner with marketing ops, product, and engineering teams to enable personalization, A/B testing, and customer journey orchestration.
- Document implementation details and provide operational support to internal stakeholders.
Required Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in data engineering, martech, or analytics roles, with exposure to CDP or related platforms.
- Hands-on experience with SQL (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake) and working with JSON and REST APIs.
- Practical knowledge of ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, or similar.
- Experience with Tag Management Systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Tealium) and event tracking implementations.
- Familiarity with data privacy concepts and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA).
- Ability to translate business requirements into data workflows and technical configurations.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with CDP platforms like Lytics, Optimizely, Segment, or BlueConic.
- Exposure to integrations with marketing platforms (Braze, Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.).
- Understanding of customer segmentation, journey design, or personalization logic.
- Cloud platform familiarity (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data pipeline support.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CDP Practitioner, dbt Fundamentals, or Google Analytics).
