ABOUT YOUR ROLE

  • You will be joining Avery’s Data & Analytics centralized team responsible for planning and executing the digital roadmap within Avery’s Solutions Group division. The D&A will be filled with digital talent that will be working on the most important initiatives within SG to increase operational efficiency and unlock value for our customers, in close collaboration with internal resources and external partners.
  • You will design, build and manage the architecture that helps analyze and process data as required by the initiatives in the D&A team and make sure those systems are performing smoothly.
  • You will also prepare the “big data” infrastructure to be analyzed by Data Scientists.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Design, develop, and deploy high-performance data pipeline frameworks for automated, high-volume, and real-time data delivery using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) on OCI (PaaS/IaaS).
  • Build robust systems with a strong focus on long-term maintainability and support.
  • Develop data APIs and data delivery services to support critical operational and analytical applications for internal business operations, customers, and partners.
  • Transform complex analytical models into scalable, production-ready solutions.
  • Continuously integrate and deploy code into cloud production environments.
  • Develop applications from the ground up using modern technology stacks.
  • Collaborate directly with Business Analysts, internal and external stakeholders, Product Owners, and customers to deliver data products in agile/waterfall environments.
  • Write test data scripts and execute formal test plans to ensure the quality of data-related projects.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities within software processes.
  • Design and execute QA tests using automated functionality scripts.

Qualifications

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

Mandatory Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a preference for Oracle Cloud and Azure.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, focusing on Oracle databases and ODI ETL tools.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate in data replication and real-time data integration projects.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) and Oracle databases.
  • Proficiency in developing and optimizing complex SQL and PL/SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Ability to implement data integration solutions, connecting diverse data sources such as cloud databases, on-premise systems, flat files, and XML files.
  • Experience with SQL performance tuning and optimization techniques for Oracle databases.
  • Strong ability to prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation for developed solutions.
  • Adherence to data security and compliance standards, particularly in cloud-based environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Fluency and excellent writing skills in English.
Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience in building ETL pipelines with one or more tools like Informatica, Azure Data Factory
  • Experience or Knowledge in building pipelines with Phyton
  • Experience with Azure DataBricks
  • Experience with Oracle FDI (Fusion Data Intelligence) is plus.
  • Familiarity with one or more BI Tools, like OAC (Oracle Analytics Cloud), Qlik, Power BI.
  • Domain expertise in Manufacturing.
  • Data engineering certifications from Oracle Cloud or Microsoft Azure.
