Okta is seeking an

outstanding, analytical, and results-driven Contract Technical Sourcer

to drive proactive talent acquisition for our most critical technical roles. This role demands a deep expertise in advanced sourcing methodologies to uncover, engage, and nurture niche technical talent across our

Engineering and Business Technology

organizations.

What You'll Do:

As a Contract Technical Sourcer, you will be the engine of our talent pipeline, leveraging cutting-edge techniques to secure top-tier talent. Your primary focus will be on deep-dive research, strategic engagement, and establishing long-term candidate relationships.
  • Execute Deep Research & Talent Mapping: Conduct thorough research on job requirements, competitor landscapes, and candidate profiles to develop comprehensive talent maps for hard-to-fill and strategic roles.
  • Master Advanced Sourcing Techniques: Utilize and innovate with techniques including Boolean, X-raying, Flipping, Peeling-back, and cross-referencing to precisely identify candidates on diverse platforms.
  • Leverage Specialized Tools: Expertly navigate and extract talent from platforms such as Stack Overflow, GitHub, LinkedIn Recruiter, and deploy X-ray searches (e.g., Google, Bing) and tools like Gem to maximize reach and efficiency. A strong passion for AI tools in the sourcing process is highly valued.
  • Proactive Passive Candidate Engagement: Design and execute highly personalized and compelling outreach strategies to engage passive candidates, generating genuine interest in Okta’s mission and opportunities.
  • Strategic Pipeline Buildout: Continuously focus on creating and maintaining robust, segmented talent pipelines for both immediate needs ("ready now") and future strategic hiring ("ready later"), ensuring sustained velocity for the recruiting function.
  • Data-Driven Collaboration: Maintain an analytical mentality by accurately tracking sourcing activity and providing clear, data-backed updates on pipeline health and market insights to recruiters and Engineering/Business Technology Managers/Directors.
  • Candidate Nurturing & Relationship Building: Establish and maintain long-term, high-touch relationships with key potential candidates, keeping them engaged with the Okta brand and tracking their career progression.
  • Seamless Hand-off: Conduct initial screening (availability, interest, compensation) before smoothly transitioning high-potential, qualified candidates to the Recruiter for the full interview and hiring process.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation within the company's ATS.

What We Are Seeking:

We are seeking a sourcing specialist who thrives on solving complex talent challenges through strategic effort and analytical rigor.
  • Deep Technical Sourcing Expertise: Proven ability to consistently identify, attract, and engage niche technical talent in competitive global labor markets, including a strong focus on the Indian tech ecosystem.
  • Command of Sourcing Methodology: Demonstrable mastery of advanced sourcing techniques and the ability to train/mentor others on best practices, tips, and tricks.
  • Understanding of Funnel Mechanics: A deep understanding of the full candidate funnel, including the necessary quality and volume of activity required at the top to maximize conversion rates and results.
  • Technology Fluency: Experience with technology-driven sourcing tools and a commitment to staying ahead of the curve on the latest industry trends and innovations.
  • Client Management: Proven ability to work consultatively with Engineering/Business Technology Managers and Directors to refine requirements and present qualified profiles.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant, progressive experience as a Technical Sourcer is required.
  • Proven expertise in sourcing in a high-growth, fast-paced high-tech or SaaS environment.
  • 5+ years of experience consistently meeting or exceeding defined metrics (e.g., pipeline volume, conversion rates).
  • 5+ years of client interaction experience, including working directly with leadership to take requirements, review profiles, and update pipeline progress.
  • Demonstrable experience utilizing advanced sourcing tools (Stack Overflow, GitHub, Gem, X-ray searches, etc.).
