Location: Head Office ( mumbai )
Reporting To: Managing Director (MD)

Working : Six days a week 9 to 5 pm.

Role Objective

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing and strengthening the commercial function of the organization, including pricing, contract management, negotiations, cost control, and commercial risk mitigation. The role requires strong exposure to the steel/manufacturing industry and the ability to work closely with senior leadership, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial activities including pricing strategy, cost analysis, margin improvement, and contract finalization.
  • Handle commercial negotiations with key customers, vendors, and service providers to ensure optimal commercial terms.
  • Review and finalize contracts, purchase orders, work orders, and agreements in line with company policies.
  • Monitor commercial risks, credit exposure, payment terms, and ensure timely collections coordination with finance.
  • Work closely with Sales, Purchase, Production, and Finance teams to ensure commercial alignment across functions.
  • Analyze market trends, raw material price movements, and competitor pricing to support business decisions.
  • Support MD with commercial MIS, reports, and strategic inputs for business growth and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and internal commercial policies.
  • Drive process improvements in commercial operations to enhance efficiency and control.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience:
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in commercial roles within steel or manufacturing companies.
  • Mandatory exposure to organizations with annual turnover of ₹500 Cr or above.
  • Industry Exposure:
  • Steel, wire, metals, heavy engineering, or large-scale manufacturing companies.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong expertise in commercial negotiations, pricing, contracts, and cost structures.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to interact confidently with senior management, customers, and vendors.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a result-oriented mindset.
  • Education:
  • Graduate in Engineering preferred (Mechanical / Metallurgy / Industrial or relevant).
  • MBA / PGDM in Finance, Operations, or Supply Chain will be an added advantage.
