Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Leather Garment Manufacturing Location: Chennai Experience required: 10+ Years Industry Preference: Leather Garments (Textile garment manufacturing background will also be considered) About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and oversee operations across our leather garment manufacturing units. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, exceptional operational management skills, and a strong commitment to quality and timely delivery. This role is critical to scaling our production while maintaining the highest standards across all aspects of manufacturing. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Factory Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of 5–6 manufacturing units, ensuring seamless coordination between departments to optimize productivity and efficiency. β€’ Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain rigorous quality control systems across all factories to ensure product excellence and customer satisfaction. β€’ Production Planning & Delivery: Drive planning and execution strategies to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders with minimal errors or delays. β€’ Process Optimization: Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements to enhance production capabilities and reduce waste. β€’ Team Leadership: Lead and mentor factory managers and cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. β€’ Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and streamlined dispatch of finished goods. β€’ Compliance & Standards: Ensure all units operate in compliance with labor laws, environmental standards, and industry regulations. β€’ Reporting & Analysis: Monitor KPIs, prepare operational reports, and present performance reviews and action plans to the executive leadership. Candidate Profile: β€’ Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in garment manufacturing, preferably in leather garments. Candidates with a textile garment manufacturing background will also be considered. β€’ Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of leather materials β€” their properties, handling, and treatment processes. β€’ Leadership: Proven ability to manage large teams and multi-location operations effectively. β€’ Quality & Delivery Focused: Demonstrated track record of ensuring consistent product quality and meeting tight delivery schedules. β€’ Analytical Thinking: Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with an eye for operational detail. β€’ Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
