Chief Financial Officer

Role & Responsibilities

1. Financial Operations Management

• Oversee and manage day-to-day finance and accounts operations to ensure smooth functioning and compliance. 
• Monitor and improve systems, processes, and internal controls.

2. Billing and TPA Teams Oversight

• Supervise and streamline TPA (Third-Party Administrator) and billing operations to enhance revenue cycle efficiency.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of patient billing and claims.

3. Strategic Financial Planning

• Prepare and review financial forecasts, annual budgets (P&L, Capex, and receivables), and long-term financial strategies.
• Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making and project expansions.

4. Compliance and Audits

• Manage statutory, internal, and tax audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Oversee GST, TDS, and other tax compliances to avoid financial liabilities.

5. Financial Reporting

• Finalize books of accounts and prepare timely MIS reports for management review.
• Present monthly and quarterly financial performance reports to stakeholders.

6. Cost and Revenue Control

• Monitor revenue controls, optimize cost management, and identify areas for financial improvement.
• Implement measures to reduce operational inefficiencies and enhance profitability.

7. Leadership and Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and motivate finance, accounts, TPA, and billing teams.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

8. Treasury and Banking

• Proficient in Treasury Management, especially managing free cash flow and surplus funds.
• Effectively manage banking relationships.

9. Miscellaneous

• Reviewing & Presenting Financial reports periodically, monitoring accounts
• Timely submission of MIS driven from financial records.
• Ensuring monthly updation and review of balance sheet items, adherence to period close check list.
• Analysing performance measures, Cost saving on various expenses.
• Develop and execute business plans. Analysis of speciality wise P&Ls.
• Investigate ways to improve profitability, and analyse markets for business opportunities.
• EBITDA improvement through focused middle line approach
• To bring focus and ideas for cost/tax optimisation and support the Unit for improving profit initiatives
• Preparation of Annual Operating Plan and subsequent monthly rolling forecast &                                                                                 analysis. Budgetary control  through variance  analysis  Preparing financial feasibility              reports for new projects and/or extension of  ongoing projects evaluation and investment decision on various projects

About the Hirer

A client of SPQR Advisors, the company operates a healthcare setup consisting of over 300 beds and a team of 2000 people. The Company is now looking to leverage to its next era of growth. In the pipeline are a few mergers and acquisitions, which will take the bed strength to over 1000 beds in the next 18-24 months. 

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA Finance with a strong academic record with an ability to manage growth. 

Experience:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in finance and accounts, preferably in the healthcare or services industry.
• Proven track record in financial planning, audits, compliance, and team leadership.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of GST, TDS, Indian Accounting Standards, and audit practices.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP.
