Category Manager

As a Category Buyer at Vishal Mega Mart, you will be responsible for managing the Personal Care and Home Care product portfolio. Your role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, product development, cost negotiation, quality assurance, and market analysis to ensure high-quality, competitively priced, and innovative private label offerings aligned with customer demands and business objectives. - Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for skincare, haircare, oral care, bath & body, household cleaning, and laundry care. - Conduct market research, trend analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify new product opportunities and category white spaces. - Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market insights to optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. - Manage OTB and allocation plans for effective inventory management. In sourcing and vendor management: - Identify, evaluate, and onboard new manufacturers and suppliers globally and domestically for private label products. - Ensure adherence to quality, ethical, and sustainability standards. - Oversee existing vendor relationships, monitor performance, and drive improvements in product quality, delivery, and service. You will also be involved in commercial and financial management by: - Delivering on budgeted sales, margin, and RGM targets. - Managing category budgets, sales forecasts, and inventory levels for optimal stock availability and waste reduction. - Conducting cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality. Quality and compliance are key aspects of your role: - Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure all private label products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. - Address product quality issues or customer complaints effectively and promptly. To excel in this position, you should possess: - A Master's degree - 8-12 years of relevant experience - Passion for retail, keen eye for market trends, and expertise in strategic decision-making.,
