Job Summary

As a Category Manager at Ugaoo, you will play a pivotal role in owning, scaling, and leading one of Ugaoo’s core categories. This high-impact role is ideal for a Tier 1/Tier 2 MBA graduate (Marketing specialization preferred) who can combine data-driven decision-making with consumer-centric thinking. You will shape the product experience across the category, identify trends, drive assortment strategy, and collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, and Customer Support teams to ensure customers have access to the best selection and guidance.

Responsibilities

Category Ownership & Growth

Define and drive the growth strategy for the category across all online and offline channels.Develop and execute business plans focused on assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising.

Channel Partnership & Enablement

Act as SME for the category, supporting channel heads (D2C, Q-commerce, Marketplaces, Retail, Corporate).Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, NPD, Supply Chain, Retail Ops, Corporate Sales) to maximize performance.

Consumer & Market Insights

Leverage data and market trends to identify gaps, new opportunities, and white spaces for innovation.Stay ahead of consumer preferences and competitor strategies.Coordinate with Customer Support for feedback, product improvement ideas, and NPS enhancement initiatives.

P&L Management

Own category P&L, ensuring profitability and healthy inventory turns.Build forecasts, track performance metrics, and optimize pricing & promotions.

Innovation & Product Development

Introduce innovative products aligned with consumer needs.Collaborate with Product & Tech teams to enhance online merchandising, product recommendations, and discoverability across digital touchpoints.

Requirements

MBA in Marketing from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 B-School.3 - 6 years of experience in category management, brand management, or e-commerce growth roles.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation and P&L ownership.Excellent stakeholder management skills—able to influence and enable multiple channel teams.Exposure to D2C, Q-commerce, or FMCG/e-commerce ecosystems is a strong plus.
  • Passion for plants, sustainability, and building consumer-first categories.
