Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead our Food & Beverage vertical, driving strategic growth across packaged foods, beverages, fresh products, gourmet items, and specialty food categories. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of food industry trends, regulatory requirements, and consumer eating habits. Key Responsibilities: Food Category Strategy & Planning Develop comprehensive strategies for food and beverage product categories Analyze food consumer behavior, dietary trends, and nutritional preferences Create compelling product assortments across packaged goods, fresh foods, beverages, and specialty items Plan seasonal campaigns aligned with food holidays, harvest seasons, and cultural celebrations Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance Ensure all food products meet food safety standards and regulatory requirements Manage & Verification of important compliance, food labeling regulations, and nutritional information accuracy & Stay Update to date time to time. Coordinate with quality assurance team on food safety protocols and testing Supplier & Brand Management Build relationships with food manufacturers, beverage producers, and specialty food suppliers Negotiate terms with CPG brands, local food producers, and international food importers Onboard organic, natural, and specialty food brands Manage private label development for food essentials and beverage products Inventory & Supply Chain Management Oversee food product lifecycle management including expiration date tracking Manage inventory optimization across perishable and non-perishable categories Plan promotional strategies to optimize product freshness and minimize waste Consumer Insights & Nutrition Trends Monitor food and beverage trends, health movements, and dietary preferences Analyze consumer purchasing patterns across different food categories Track emerging food trends including plant-based, keto, organic, and functional foods Collaborate with marketing team on food education and nutritional content Commercial Performance Drive revenue growth and margin optimization across food and beverage categories Plan and execute food promotions, seasonal campaigns, and holiday merchandising Analyze food product performance across different price points and consumption occasions Coordinate with merchandising team on food product placement and cross-merchandising Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred). Minimum 4–6 years of experience in category management, e- commerce, or retail. Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to drive results through data-driven decision-making. Familiarity with digital marketing tools and social media trends. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Paid sick time Paid time off Schedule: Monday to Friday Work Location: In person
