Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop, plan, and implement procurement strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for an assigned category or group of categories. Each day, you will ensure execution in accordance with company, procurement, and supply base management instructions and procedures. You will also showcase your knowledge by recommending frame agreements to management and executing upon approval.

This role is contributing to the ABB India, Smart Buildings, Electrification, Business, for Supply Chain Operation function at Bangalore location.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Design and implement local sourcing plans to meet business targets, while supporting regional and global sourcing initiatives and coordinating Division SCM budget targets and KPI follow-ups.
• Identify and develop cost-effective, qualified suppliers in alignment with ABB sourcing and quality requirements, working closely with cross-functional and engineering teams to implement technical changes and manage commercial impacts.
• Negotiate and finalize long-term agreements per business needs, ensuring compliance with ABBs quality, safety, environment, and ethics standards.
• Coordinate and execute supplier audits with quality teams, ensuring timely closure of non-conformities and supplier compliance with ABB requirements.
• Prepare and maintain reports as per ABB standards, ensuring clear, transparent communication across internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications for the role:

• 8- 12 years of experience in sourcing and procurement operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Practical experience in sourcing for low voltage manufacturing product lines such as MCB, MCCB, and ACB.
• Advanced skills in plastic molding, high-speed metal stamping, sheet metal cabinets, and subcontracting processes.
• Proficient costing and negotiation skills, with lean process knowledge to ensure cost efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability in people relations, stakeholder engagement, and adept organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and SAP MM for sourcing and procurement activities.
• Qualification: BE in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering; experienced diploma holders will be considered.
