POSITION OVERVIEW

Head of Private Label Function

KEY DELIVERABLES & SUCCESS METRICS

• Revenue Growth:

  Achieve annual private label revenue targets

• Margin Improvement:

  Deliver gross margin improvements

• Market Share:

  Increase private label penetration in target categories

• Product Portfolio:

  Launch new products across categories

• Supplier Performance:

  Maintain on-time delivery and quality standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• MBA from premier business school (IIM/ISB/equivalent) or advanced degree in relevant field
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or Business Administration

Experience

• 2-10 years of experience
• Proven track record of leading P&L responsibility for private label business
• Experience managing diverse FMCG categories (food & beverages, personal care, home care, health & wellness)
• Strong background in modern trade, e-commerce, or retail environments

Core Competencies

• Deep understanding of FMCG value chains, manufacturing processes, and quality standards
• Expertise in product development, sourcing, and supplier management
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in market research and consumer insights
• Proven negotiation skills and commercial acumen
• Experience with regulatory compliance and quality assurance in FMCG
• Knowledge of packaging technologies and sustainability practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Background of working in MBB (McKinsey, BCG Consulting and Bain)
• Background in leading retail chains, e-commerce platforms, or consumer goods companies
• Exposure to emerging categories like organic, natural, or sustainable products
• Experience in digital commerce and omnichannel retail strategies
• Industry certifications in quality management (Six Sigma, ISO standards)

LOCATION

• Primary:

  Hyderabad

• Travel:

  20-30% travel required for supplier visits, market research, and stakeholder meetings.
