Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources including databases, spreadsheets, and external systems.
Design, implement, and manage scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows.
Build and maintain data warehouses and data marts to support business analytics.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, scalability, and optimal performance across BI systems.
Implement data access controls, partitioning strategies, and backup mechanisms.
Automate recurring data processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues and load failures.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of BI processes for future reference.
Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver clean, structured datasets.
Integrate and support ERP systems such as Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), ensuring seamless data flow between enterprise applications and BI platforms.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Mathematics, Statistics, or MCA.
3–6 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics roles.

Skills

Strong proficiency in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
Expertise in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
Hands-on experience with BI and ETL tools such as:

Microsoft Power BI
Snowflake
SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS)
Tableau

Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and architecture.
Experience with cloud data platforms and APIs.
Strong scripting skills for data manipulation and automation.
Knowledge of data security, access control, and governance best practices.
Ability to maintain and scale BI infrastructure.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and data governance frameworks.

Working Conditions

The work mode of Finisar India is Hybrid i.e. 3 days at office (Tuesday through Thursday)
Should be flexible to support during different time zones
