Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources including databases, spreadsheets, and external systems.
- Design, implement, and manage scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows.
- Build and maintain data warehouses and data marts to support business analytics.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, scalability, and optimal performance across BI systems.
- Implement data access controls, partitioning strategies, and backup mechanisms.
- Automate recurring data processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues and load failures.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of BI processes for future reference.
- Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver clean, structured datasets.
- Integrate and support ERP systems such as Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), ensuring seamless data flow between enterprise applications and BI platforms.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Mathematics, Statistics, or MCA.
- 3–6 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics roles.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
- Expertise in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
- Hands-on experience with BI and ETL tools such as:
- Microsoft Power BI
- Snowflake
- SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
- BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS)
- Tableau
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and architecture.
- Experience with cloud data platforms and APIs.
- Strong scripting skills for data manipulation and automation.
- Knowledge of data security, access control, and governance best practices.
- Ability to maintain and scale BI infrastructure.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and data governance frameworks.
Working Conditions
- The work mode of Finisar India is Hybrid i.e. 3 days at office (Tuesday through Thursday)
- Should be flexible to support during different time zones
