Job Title : Manager – Business Development (KUSUM) Location : Gurgaon Industry - Solar Industry Job Purpose The Manager – Business Development (KUSUM) will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing business opportunities under the PM-KUSUM Scheme (Component A/B/C) across various states. The role demands direct engagement with government departments, DISCOMs, nodal agencies, and farmer collectives, while also working cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure project success, closure of deals, and compliance with scheme requirements. Key Responsibilities Strategic Responsibilities Identify business opportunities across states under PM-KUSUM (Components A, B & C). Develop and execute go-to-market strategies aligned with central/state policies and subsidy frameworks. Monitor and analyze policy changes, tenders, EOIs, and DISCOM updates relevant to KUSUM. Design state-specific execution models factoring in land, local engagement, and DISCOM integration. Financial Responsibilities Apply subsidy frameworks, viability gap funding, and tariff incentives to create viable business proposals. Coordinate with finance and regulatory teams to model project IRRs, payment terms, and financial closure. Handle documentation for subsidy claims and disbursements. Monitor financial progress, risks, and reporting for ongoing and future projects. Process Responsibilities Manage submissions for tenders, empanelments, and direct KUSUM-related sales. Collaborate with engineering and execution teams on pre-bid queries, DPR creation, and commissioning plans. Maintain CRM systems, progress dashboards, and official documentation per MNRE/state formats. Align supply chain activities and project delivery schedules. People & Stakeholder Management Interface with SNAs (e.g., HAREDA, GEDA, RREC), DISCOMs, and rural development authorities. Build rapport with FPOs, cooperatives, panchayats, and VLEs. Represent the organization in renewable energy expos, state workshops, and community outreach. Handle customer interactions, escalate issues, and manage grievance redressal. Key Interfaces Internal AVP – Business Development Policy & Regulatory Affairs Team Engineering, Pre-Sales, Project Execution Teams Commercial, Legal, and Customer Service Departments External MNRE, State Nodal Agencies (SNAs), DISCOMs Panchayati Raj Institutions, Local Authorities EPC Partners, Financial Institutions (RESCO Model) FPOs, Cooperatives, Farmer Associations Required Qualifications & Skills Education : Bachelor's in Agriculture, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Rural Development; MBA preferred. Experience : Minimum 6 years in solar business development, with a strong focus on government schemes and agri-solar projects. Technical Knowledge : Deep understanding of PM-KUSUM scheme components, subsidy structures, and state-level variations. Expertise in RESCO and CAPEX models. Proven ability in tendering, documentation, and regulatory compliance. Stakeholder Engagement : Strong communication and relationship-building skills with government bodies and rural stakeholders. Fluency in Hindi and English; regional language proficiency is a plus. Show more Show less
