About the role


The incumbent will be managing set of key accounts for all products portfolio at Godrej Industries Ltd - Chemicals business, Primarily Surfactants & also carry out Business Development & Product Management.


Key Responsibilities


Key Account Management:


  • Manage set of key accounts for all product portfolio (Oleo chemicals, derivatives , Specialty chemicals etc. Having major focus on Surfactants)
  • Establish contact with various departments of the customer ex R&D, purchase, marketing, operations.
  • The incumbent should be able to understand the potential of key accounts and our market share.
  • Analyzing our position in the customer’s wallet and devising ways to increase it.
  • Keeping track of market trends, keeping a close watch on new product launches at the customer’s end.
  • Establish contact with all the locations of the key accounts at Godrej industries ltd chemicals.
  • Ensure no overdue within the area of responsibility, closely monitor customer payment status and credit notes to be issued.
  • Establishing, maintaining, and developing customer relationship, under the management of Sales & marketing
  • Managing all customer complaints with respect to all Key accounts with the support from Godrej technical & commercial team
  • Closely monitoring market behavior, competition climate, demand and supply position, pricing trends to be on top of business environment, share intel with the Management team and Business intelligence.
  • Identify and capture opportunities of key accounts, develop and track Sales and probability funnels.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining strong and long-term relationships with clients/Key Accounts and generating incremental value and volume sales.
  • Management of Large Accounts to meet account expansion goals.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting, negotiating, to closing the deal. Establish sales objectives by forecasting & developing annual sales, projecting expected sales volumes & profit for new & existing key accounts.


Product Management:


  • Accountable for planning, forecasting, purchasing, and customer coordination to achieve profit targets.
  • Conduct monthly forecasting, customer-wise costing, price policy formulation, and raw material planning.
  • Support business managers in managing sales and distribution networks to achieve sales targets and profitability through value selling.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to gather market insights and address queries and complaints.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for end-to-end supply chain control.
  • Manage long-term bids and supply chain management for MNC sales.
  • Perform data mining and analysis for effective decision-making across the business portfolio.


Business Development


  • Keep abreast with Surfactants market. Should keep track of trends, prospective customers.
  • Hunting for new customers /new products (which Godrej is not making but check possibility of making them)/ new segments/new applications for Surfactants business across the globe
  • Identify, quantify and expand the business by acquiring new customers (Business development) For this need to closely work with customer’s R & D/ Operations team & also Godrej’s technical team/factory/QA
  • Develop new accounts, add new products to existing accounts by getting customer approvals for Godrej products to meet individual & group targets.
  • Innovative approach in business operation with respect to changing and new market trends
  • Analyze industry and compare firm’s products with that of competitors.
  • Participate in business exhibitions & attend conferences.
  • Maintaining cordial relations with customers to sustain long-term profitable growth.
  • Managing all customer complaints with respect to all Key accounts with the support from Godrej technical & commercial team
  • Monitor the service and customer complaints to maximize customer satisfaction level.
  • Manage & maintain the developed business accounts for repeat sales, Customer complaints & build long term relationship with these accounts
