Modern Stage Events is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our growing team. With 20 years of HR experience, I can tell you this is a pivotal role for us, requiring a blend of strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in driving sales within the events, MICE, or a related industry. Key Responsibilities Strategic Growth: Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities for Modern Stage Events, aligning with our strategic growth objectives. This includes researching market trends, competitor activities, and potential client needs. Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their event requirements and positioning Modern Stage Events as their preferred partner. Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing deals, ensuring a seamless and efficient process. Proposal Development: Collaborate with the operations and design teams to develop compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches that effectively showcase Modern Stage Events' capabilities and value proposition. Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to identify new avenues for growth and maintain a competitive edge. Revenue Generation: Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs, contributing significantly to the company's revenue growth. Networking & Representation: Represent Modern Stage Events at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand our reach and build brand awareness. Reporting: Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and market feedback to the leadership team. Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective lead generation campaigns and promotional materials. What We're Looking For Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the event management, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions), hospitality, or related service industries. Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in achieving and exceeding sales targets, with a strong portfolio of closed deals and client relationships. Strategic Thinker: Ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, develop strategic sales plans, and translate business objectives into actionable initiatives. Exceptional Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. Negotiation Prowess: Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a focus on win-win outcomes. Networking Skills: A natural networker with the ability to build rapport quickly and establish strong professional connections. Self-Motivated & Proactive: Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Presentation Skills: Proficient in creating and delivering engaging presentations to potential clients and stakeholders. Tech Savvy: Familiarity with CRM software and sales management tools. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
