Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) with a background in leading online marketplace companies and hands-on technical understanding of e-commerce platforms. The ideal candidate will blend business acumen, sales expertise, and marketplace technology know-how to scale our platform, drive adoption, and establish leadership in the construction material industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketplace Business Growth
  • Leverage prior experience in big online marketplace companies (Amazon, Flipkart, Hippo, Inframarket, L&T Sufin, IndiaMart, Udaan, etc.) to drive growth strategy.
  • Onboard suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors of construction materials (cement, steel, paints, sanitaryware, tiles, home furnishing, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • Expand and engage the buyer ecosystem – developers, contractors, architects, retailers, and project owners.
  • E-commerce Platform Strategy & Execution
  • Work with the tech/product team to enhance marketplace functionalities (catalog management, pricing engines, vendor dashboards, order flow, and payment systems).
  • Provide technical inputs on platform usability, analytics, and process automation.
  • Ensure smooth digital onboarding and adoption for suppliers and buyers.
  • Sales & Partnerships
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and margins with partners to ensure healthy profitability.
  • Forge strategic alliances with logistics partners, payment gateways, and industry associations.
  • Achieve sales and revenue targets in line with company goals.
  • Market Intelligence & Expansion
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking of leading online B2B marketplaces.
  • Identify new categories, geographies, and product lines for platform expansion.
  • Provide insights to leadership for business and technology roadmap planning.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate/MBA in Business, Marketing, Technology, or Civil/Construction Management.
  • 6–12 years’ experience in business development, sales, or partnerships.
  • Proven experience in big online marketplaces (e.g., IndiaMart, Hippo, L&T Sufin, Inframarket, Udaan, Amazon B2B, Flipkart Wholesale, etc.).
  • Strong technical know-how of e-commerce platforms – product catalog management, digital onboarding, pricing, vendor management, CRM, ERP integration.
  • Solid network in real estate, infrastructure, and construction sectors.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable in a high-growth startup environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
