Job Description: Business Development Executive (Technology Sales)

  • Location: Coimbatore (covering Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and The Nilgiris)
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Work From Office (with extensive field travel)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to drive growth for our technology products and services across the Education, Corporate, and Healthcare segments in the Western Tamil Nadu region. The role focuses on new business acquisition, nurturing and growing existing accounts, and ensuring timely Accounts Receivable (AR) collections. This is an office-based role with frequent travel within and outside the city for client meetings, demos, and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development
  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities in target sectors across Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and The Nilgiris.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through field prospecting, referrals, events, and digital outreach.
  • Conduct solution presentations, product demos, and PoCs in alignment with client needs.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, tenders/RFP responses, and negotiate terms to closure.
  • Account Management
  • Maintain and grow revenue from existing clients; drive upsell and cross-sell initiatives.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for key accounts; ensure high customer satisfaction and timely renewals.
  • Coordinate with pre-sales, technical, delivery, and support teams to ensure successful onboarding and adoption.
  • AR Collections
  • Own end-to-end AR follow-up with clients, ensuring payments are collected within agreed credit terms.
  • Track ageing, reduce DSO, and resolve invoice/payment disputes in coordination with finance.
  • Territory & Activity Management
  • Plan weekly/monthly territory travel schedules to cover all cities effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM (e.g., Salesforce/Zoho): leads, opportunities, activities, forecasts.
  • Provide timely MIS reports, pipeline forecasts, competitor intel, and market feedback.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 4–5+ years of proven B2B sales experience in technology products/services (hardware, software, IT solutions, SaaS, networking, or similar).
  • Demonstrated success selling to Educational Institutions, Corporates/SMBs, and Healthcare providers in the Coimbatore region.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills with consistent achievement of sales targets.
  • Hands-on experience with AR follow-ups and collections; familiarity with standard credit terms and invoicing.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce/Zoho), MS Office/Google Workspace; basic understanding of sales metrics and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication in English and Tamil; Hindi/Telugu/Kannada is a plus.
  • Local market knowledge and existing relationships in Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and The Nilgiris preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (60–70%); valid driver’s license and personal two-wheeler/four-wheeler access preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or related field; MBA is an advantage.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue attainment vs. quarterly and annual targets.
  • New logo acquisitions and qualified pipeline coverage (e.g., 3x–4x).
  • Account growth: upsell/cross-sell revenue and renewal rate.
  • AR and credit control: DSO reduction, % invoices collected within agreed terms (e.g., >90%).
  • Activity metrics: client meetings, demos, proposals submitted, and win rate.
  • Customer satisfaction (NPS/CSAT) and referenceability.

  • Working Hours: Standard business hours with flexibility based on client schedules.

Additional Notes

  • Preference for candidates who can join within 30–45 days.
  • Familiarity with institutional procurement processes, tenders, and vendor empanelment is desirable.
  • Strong ethical standards, documentation discipline, and teamwork are essential.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
