Position Overview

The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) at Be the BEE is a growth-focused, relationship-building expert responsible for expanding the agency’s client base and market influence across a designated region. This role combines strategic selling, client acquisition, and deep market intelligence with a consultative mindset to help position Be the BEE as a creative partner of choice.

Ideal for a self-starter who understands the nuances of regional business culture, this role demands a strong grasp of the Indian advertising ecosystem, a creative eye for storytelling-driven campaigns, and a hunger to deliver business impact through partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Client Acquisition & Regional Expansion

● Identify, approach, and convert potential clients within the assigned region across industries (FMCG, Real Estate, Healthcare, Retail, D2C, BFSI, etc.).

● Pitch agency services including brand strategy, creative development, digital marketing, video production, influencer campaigns, packaging, and more.

● Develop region-specific strategies for lead generation, networking, and partnership development.

2. Client Relationship Management & Retention

● Build strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers: CMOs, brand heads, marketing managers, etc.

● Conduct regular follow-ups to understand evolving needs and offer solutions that go beyond execution — from insight mining to creative innovation.

● Ensure seamless onboarding of new clients in collaboration with creative and client servicing teams.

3. Revenue Growth & Business Strategy

● Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales/revenue targets.

● Create plan and act on that.

● Contribute to pricing proposals, RFPs, and strategic campaign planning with internal stakeholders.

● Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing client ecosystems.

4. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

● Stay abreast of regional industry trends, marketing shifts, advertising formats, and competitor activity.

● Gather insights on brand behavior, category needs, and regional consumer preferences to tailor offerings.

● Share regular reports and forecasts with leadership to refine market positioning.

● Constant presence and communicate with future clients.

5. Collaboration with Internal Teams

● Work closely with Strategy, Creative, and Digital departments to co-develop compelling pitch narratives and presentation decks.

● Ensure smooth internal communication of project goals, client briefs, and brand expectations.

● Offer client context and insights that influence campaign strategy and execution.

Skills & Competencies

Strategic Salesmanship: Ability to sell value, not just services. Understands how to convert client needs into integrated solutions. Know the industry news.

Relationship Building: Builds rapport with ease and nurtures long-term partnerships.

Market Sensitivity: Has deep understanding of regional culture, market movements, and client decision-making behaviors.

Pitch Expertise: Skilled in storytelling through presentations, confident in both boardroom and informal settings.

Resilience & Follow-Up: Can chase leads without burnout and handle rejection professionally.

● Quarterly, monthly and yearly plan presentation to director

Tools & Platforms

● CRM: Zoho, Salesforce, HubSpot, or Excel-based pipeline tracker

● Presentation: PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides

● Communication: Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp Business

● Market Research: LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Google Trends, industry whitepapers

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or related field.

● 5–8 years of experience in business development or strategic sales roles in advertising, branding, or media agencies.

● Proven track record of closing B2B deals, growing client portfolios, and managing high-value relationships.

Regional & Cultural Expectations

● Fluency in local language(s) preferred along with English and Hindi.

● Deep understanding of local/regional consumer behavior, business culture, and industry events.

● Willingness to travel across the region for client meetings, pitch presentations, and industry networking.

● Should align with the company’s culture, vision and mission

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
