Job Overview


The Business Development Executive will be responsible for discovering new market potential, identifying and pursuing sales opportunities, and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate should have strong communication and analytical skills, be self-motivated, and be eager to grow within the pharma export-trading ecosystem.

Roles and Responsibilities

 

1.      Sales & Market Development

a.      Conduct research to identify new markets, potential customers, and emerging opportunities

b.      Actively pursue sales leads through cold calling, networking, email campaigns, and social media

c.       Set up meetings (virtual or in-person) with potential clients to understand their requirements

d.      Prepare and deliver effective presentations and proposals tailored to customer needs

2.      Client Relationship Management

a.      Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients

b.      Gather client feedback and ensure it is relayed to internal teams for continuous improvement

c.       Address complaints and resolve issues proactively

3.      Internal Coordination & Reporting

a.      Collaborate with internal teams (regulatory, logistics, accounts, etc.) to ensure smooth execution of deals

b.      Analyse lost opportunities and suggest strategies to bridge gaps

c.       Generate MIS reports for sales, targets, and customer engagement

4.      Exhibitions & Events

a.      Represent the company in trade fairs, conferences, or exhibitions as needed

b.      Travel may be required depending on performance and business need

 

Preferred Skills and Attributes

 

·        Prior experience as a Sales Executive / CRM / Business Development Executive.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

·        Proficiency in MS Office; experience with CRM tools is a plus.

·        Understanding of sales, marketing, and negotiation techniques.

·        Fast learner with a strong drive to meet targets.

·        Ability to make compelling presentations.

·        High level of initiative and self-motivation.

Educational & Professional Background

·        Graduate in Pharmacy, Chemistry, or Life Sciences preferred.

·        MBA in Marketing or International Business is an advantage.

·        2–5 years of experience in export sales or business development in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or allied sectors.

·        Experience with trading firms or export houses is preferred.

Location: Kolkata, India 

Department: Sales/CRM 

Reports to: Business Development – Head

Expected Joining: Within 30 days or as soon as possible 

Compensation: Competitive with a mix of fixed and variable pay, as per experience and industry norms
