Business Analyst


Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis:

  • Work with business stakeholders, including underwriters, claims teams, and actuaries, to gather, document, and validate business requirements for P&C insurance processes and systems.
  • Perform gap analysis between current business processes and system capabilities, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Process Mapping & Documentation:

  • Create detailed process maps, workflows, and functional requirements for new or enhanced systems and applications.
  • Maintain a repository of business requirements and process documentation.
  • System & Product Implementation Support:

  • Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure alignment of business needs with system solutions.
  • Coordinate the implementation of software solutions and manage the rollout of updates to existing P&C insurance systems.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze business data to generate insights and support decision-making processes within underwriting, claims, and operations.
  • Prepare and deliver reports to senior management on key performance indicators (KPIs), risks, and opportunities.
  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all proposed solutions and processes comply with industry regulations and standards (e.g., state insurance laws, ISO standards).
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain up-to-date knowledge of P&C insurance regulations.
  • Stakeholder Communication:

  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executives, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to discuss project progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization within the P&C insurance business and recommend technology-driven solutions.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to support innovation within the insurance business.


Key Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Computer Science, or related field. Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is a plus.
  • Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2 years of experience in the P&C insurance industry.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, process modeling, and system implementation in an insurance environment.


  • Skills:

  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance products (e.g., auto, home, commercial) and operations.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools (e.g., MS Visio, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with insurance policy administration systems and claims management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Desirable Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations (e.g., NAIC, ISO, state insurance departments).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies like InsurTech, machine learning, and AI in the insurance space.
