Job Description

Position: Branch Head / Branch ManagerDepartment: Operations & Business DevelopmentLocation: Branch OfficeReporting To: Regional Manager / Zonal Head1. Role Summary

The Branch Head is responsible for leading and managing the overall operations, business growth, team performance, customer service, and compliance of the NBFC branch. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, maintaining portfolio quality, ensuring regulatory adherence, and building strong customer and market relationships.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Business Development & Sales

  • Achieve monthly/quarterly business targets for loans and other financial products.
  • Plan and execute branch-level sales strategies and promotional activities.
  • Identify new markets, customer segments, and business opportunities.
  • Ensure cross-selling of NBFC products to existing and new customers.

B. Portfolio & Credit Management

  • Ensure high-quality loan sourcing, verification, and disbursement processes.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, overdue accounts, and delinquency levels.
  • Take corrective action to control NPAs and improve branch asset quality.
  • Ensure proper credit assessment and adherence to credit policies.

C. Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations and ensure smooth functioning.
  • Maintain strict compliance with RBI/NBFC regulations and internal audit requirements.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy, KYC compliance, and policy adherence.
  • Coordinate with internal audit teams and take action on audit findings.

D. Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, motivate, and monitor branch staff to ensure high productivity.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, reviews, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure proper manpower planning, discipline, and work ethics in the branch.

E. Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Ensure excellent customer service standards at the branch.
  • Manage customer escalations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain relationships with key customers, vendors, and market influencers.

F. Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare and submit required MIS reports to management.
  • Coordinate with HO/Regional Office for approvals, operations, and support.
  • Analyse market trends and provide feedback for product and policy improvements.

3. Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 4–8 years of NBFC/Banking experience (with at least 2 years in a supervisory role).
  • Strong knowledge of retail loans, gold loans, MSME loans, or other NBFC products.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good analytical ability, market understanding, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
