Billing & Measurement Engineer

Position: Billing & Measurement Engineer Location: Orbit Projects Head Office / Project Sites – Gurgaon, Haryana Experience Required: 1–3 years in billing, measurement, or quantity verification for interior fit-out or MEP projects Reporting To: Billing & Measurement Lead / Commercial Head Role Overview The Junior Billing & Measurement Engineer will assist in ensuring accurate quantity measurement, billing, and documentation for Orbit’s interior fit-out and MEP projects. This role supports the senior billing team in preparing Running Account (RA) bills, verifying site quantities, maintaining reconciliation records, and coordinating with site, procurement, and finance teams for smooth billing processes. The position is ideal for candidates who wish to develop their careers in project billing, measurement, and commercial management within the interior and MEP domain. Key Responsibilities1. Measurement & Verification Assist in taking joint measurements of executed works at project sites. Record and verify quantities based on GFC drawings, BOQs, and site conditions. Report any quantity discrepancies to the senior billing engineer for review and correction. 2. Billing & Reconciliation Support preparation and checking of RA bills, final bills, and quantity summaries. Update billing progress sheets and assist in tracking billed vs. executed quantities. Help maintain reconciliation statements between client, vendor, and project records. 3. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate joint measurement sheets, logs, and billing documentation. Ensure timely submission of verified data for internal and client billing. Assist in maintaining well-organized project billing files for audits and reviews. 4. Coordination & Support Coordinate with site engineers, vendors, procurement, and finance teams for smooth billing workflows. Assist in resolving basic billing or quantity-related issues under senior guidance. Support the billing lead in preparing billing status reports and MIS summaries. Skills & CompetenciesBasic knowledge of billing and measurement practices in interior & MEP works. Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with AutoCAD for quantity take-offs. Strong analytical and numerical accuracy. Good documentation and record management skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Process-driven, punctual, and detail-oriented.
