Job Title: Automotive Test Management Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Test Concept & Test Management Engineer
with deep technical expertise in
automotive software testing, verification & validation, and ASPICE-compliant processes
. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test concept development, regression planning, KPI governance, and global test coordination across large-scale automotive programs.This role requires excellent system understanding, test automation awareness, and hands-on experience with requirements and defect management tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Concept & Strategy Development
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the global test concept across system, integration, and component levels
- Define test architectures, test coverage strategies, and modular test approaches aligned with Functional Safety and Automotive SPICE requirements
- Ensure full traceability of test concept to system architecture, system requirements, and software components
- Regression Strategy & Planning
- Define regression planning methods including risk-based, impact-based, and change-based selection
- Plan regression cycles for CI pipelines, automated test benches, and manual environments
- Optimize regression test suites for better stability, execution time, and defect detection rate
- KPI Definition, Metrics & Test Governance
- Define and track quality KPIs (e.g., test coverage, defect density, pass rate, execution throughput)
- Build dashboards to visualize progress, risks, maturity, and release readiness
- Ensure test governance for quality gates, test readiness reviews, and release acceptance criteria
- Test Management & Coordination
- Lead end-to-end test lifecycle activities—planning, preparation, execution tracking, and reporting
- Coordinate global multi-site test teams and collaborate with development, suppliers, and quality stakeholders
- Support test environment setup, test data definition, and configuration management
- ASPICE-Compliant Process Execution
- Ensure test activities comply with Automotive SPICE processes (SYS.4, SYS.5, SWE.4, SWE.5, SWE.6)
- Participate in audits, assessments, and continuous improvement programs
- Requirements & Test Traceability
- Manage requirements using IBM DOORS / DOORS Next
- Maintain complete bidirectional traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects
- Build and track traceability matrices across all test levels
- Reporting & Defect Management
- Prepare reports on test execution, defect trends, risks, and mitigation plans
- Drive defect lifecycle management and conduct triage meetings using Jira or other ALM tools
Technical Skills (Advanced)
Testing & Validation
- Strong understanding of system, integration, component, and acceptance testing
- Experience with HIL/SIL/MIL methodologies and tools (dSPACE, Vector, ETAS)
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet
- Understanding of UDS/OBD diagnostics, communication stacks, and automotive middleware
Tools & Frameworks
- ALM & Requirements: DOORS, Jira, Polarion, Confluence
- Test Management: Zephyr, Xray, TestRail
- Traceability: IBM DOORS, Cameo, PREEvision (preferred)
- Version Control: Git, GitLab, Bitbucket
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD
- Automation (Good to Have): Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, CAPL, Python-based automation, ECU Test
Automotive Standards & Methodologies
- Automotive SPICE (mandatory)
- ISO 26262 Functional Safety (preferred)
- ISO/SAE 21434 Cybersecurity (good to have)
- V-Model, System Engineering processes
Soft Skills

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields
- 3+ years of experience in automotive software testing or V&V
- In-depth knowledge of ASPICE, requirements management, and automotive testing methodologies
- Experience working with OEMs, Tier-1, or Tier-2 automotive suppliers
