POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director – Cloud Operations will lead and oversee all cloud operations activities and deliverables executed by ZeOmega’s offshore teams. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, scalability, and performance of ZeOmega’s cloud-hosted platforms that support U.S.-based clients.
Reporting to the Vice President, Cloud Infrastructure, this leader will manage a high-performing offshore operations organization responsible for infrastructure reliability, automation, performance monitoring, and process governance. The role requires a combination of strong technical expertise, operational excellence, and people leadership to maintain a stable, secure, and efficient cloud environment.
This position will work primarily on a second or late shift to support U.S. client operations and business hours.
PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage offshore Cloud Operations teams, ensuring the effective delivery of all operational functions including incident, problem, change, configuration, capacity, and performance management.
- Provide strategic oversight of ZeOmega’s cloud and infrastructure environments (VMware, AWS, Azure, hybrid), ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
- Serve as the offshore operations leader and escalation point for major incidents, outages, and performance issues, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
- Oversee and govern operational SLAs, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives across offshore delivery teams.
- Collaborate closely with the VP of Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams to align infrastructure performance and availability with business goals.
- Drive infrastructure automation and standardization initiatives using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Python to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure robust configuration management, change control, and compliance with security and regulatory standards (HITRUST, HIPAA, SOC2, etc.).
- Oversee capacity planning, monitoring, and performance optimization for all systems to prevent service degradation and ensure scalability.
- Maintain oversight of data center and cloud operations including compute, storage (EMC, Pure, Nimble), networking (Cisco, F5, Fortinet), and container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher).
- Direct the creation and maintenance of architecture diagrams, documentation, and operational procedures for business continuity.
- Lead regular operational and performance reviews with senior leadership, providing visibility into system health, risks, and improvement plans.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team leads and engineers to enhance capability, ownership, and accountability within offshore operations.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance reliability, automation, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure seamless CI/CD pipeline operations and infrastructure integration for product deployments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support ZeOmega’s operational excellence and strategic objectives.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
Experience:
- 12+ years of progressive experience in cloud or infrastructure operations, including at least 4–5 years in a leadership capacity managing distributed or offshore teams.
- Proven success managing large-scale enterprise 24/7 Production environments with VMware, AWS, or Azure.
- Demonstrated experience implementing ITIL-based operational processes and governance.
- Strong background in automation, orchestration, and container management (Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher).
- Exposure to enterprise storage and network technologies in data center and hybrid environments.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of virtualization, compute, storage, and networking infrastructure.
- Proficiency with infrastructure management and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python).
- Experience with cloud performance monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud security and compliance standards.
