Assistant Manager Purchase

Job Summary
The Purchase Assistant Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and services required for the manufacturing of rubber seals. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing, consistent quality, timely availability of materials, and strong supplier relationships while adhering to industry standards and company policies Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & SourcingDevelop and execute procurement strategies for rubber compounds, elastomers (NBR, EPDM, Viton/FKM, Silicone, Neoprene, etc.), chemicals, fillers, metals, and packaging materials.Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for domestic and international sourcing.Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials aligned with production schedules.Vendor ManagementNegotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.Maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers while ensuring competitive sourcing.Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, cost, and compliance.Cost Control & BudgetingAnalyze market trends for rubber raw materials and manage price volatility.Implement cost reduction and value engineering initiatives without compromising quality.Prepare and manage procurement budgets and forecasts.Quality & ComplianceEnsure all purchased materials comply with industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements (ISO, IATF, ASTM, RoHS, REACH, etc.).Coordinate with Quality and R&D teams for material approvals, trials, and audits.Support supplier audits and corrective action processes.Inventory & PlanningCoordinate with Production and Planning teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.Avoid stock-outs and excess inventory through effective demand planning.Oversee material planning for new product development and customer projects.Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate purchase records, contracts, and supplier documentation.Prepare MIS reports on procurement performance, savings, and supplier metrics.Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
