Job Title : Assistant Manager – Facilities Location : Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru Experience Required : 10+ years (preferably in the education sector) Reports To : Manager – Facilities / Director – Administration Job Summary : We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Assistant Manager – Facilities with over 10 years of relevant experience to oversee and manage day-to-day campus infrastructure operations at Dayananda Sagar University . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management , preferably within educational institutions , and demonstrate the ability to manage large teams, vendors, maintenance schedules, and statutory compliances. Key Responsibilities : Facilities Operations : Oversee the smooth functioning of the university's physical infrastructure, including classrooms, labs, offices, hostels, auditoriums, and recreational areas. Ensure regular preventive and breakdown maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, lifts, fire safety systems, and DG sets. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across all university premises through supervision of housekeeping teams. Vendor and Asset Management : Coordinate and manage external vendors and service contracts for AMC, security, housekeeping, landscaping, etc. Monitor and track asset movement, maintenance, and lifecycle. Space and Infrastructure Planning : Assist in planning and execution of infrastructure expansion, space utilization, and renovation projects in coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors. Budgeting and Procurement : Prepare and monitor annual budgets for facility operations. Support procurement of facility-related materials and services while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. Health, Safety & Compliance : Ensure compliance with all applicable safety norms, local regulations, and statutory requirements (fire safety, pollution control board, HVAC, etc.). Conduct periodic safety drills and facility inspections. People Management : Supervise and motivate teams including housekeeping, maintenance staff, and security personnel. Conduct regular training and performance evaluations. Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management; MBA is a plus. 10+ years of relevant experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational institution or campus environment . Strong knowledge of building systems, statutory compliance, and project management. Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and facility management software. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Desirable Attributes : Experience handling multi-campus environments. Crisis management and emergency preparedness experience. Ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative departments. Work Conditions : Full-time, on-site role.
