Job Description

Role Overview: As an Assistant Manager Facilities at Dayananda Sagar University in Bengaluru, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the campus infrastructure. With over 10 years of experience in facilities management, particularly in educational institutions, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of various facilities on campus. Your proactive and organized approach will be essential in managing teams, vendors, maintenance schedules, and statutory compliances effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the smooth functioning of the university's physical infrastructure, including classrooms, labs, offices, hostels, auditoriums, and recreational areas. - Ensure regular preventive and breakdown maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, lifts, fire safety systems, and DG sets. - Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across all university premises through supervision of housekeeping teams. - Coordinate and manage external vendors and service contracts for AMC, security, housekeeping, landscaping, etc. - Monitor and track asset movement, maintenance, and lifecycle. - Assist in planning and execution of infrastructure expansion, space utilization, and renovation projects in coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors. - Prepare and monitor annual budgets for facility operations. - Support procurement of facility-related materials and services while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. - Ensure compliance with all applicable safety norms, local regulations, and statutory requirements (fire safety, pollution control board, HVAC, etc.). - Conduct periodic safety drills and facility inspections. - Supervise and motivate teams including housekeeping, maintenance staff, and security personnel. - Conduct regular training and performance evaluations. Qualification Required: - Bachelors degree in Facility Management; MBA is a plus. - 10+ years of relevant experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational institution or campus environment. - Strong knowledge of building systems, statutory compliance, and project management. - Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and facility management software. - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
