Job Overview

Ganpati Dairy Products Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a results-driven and experienced Area Sales Manager to lead our sales operations within the assigned geographical area. The primary focus will be on driving growth for our namkeen products, expanding market presence, and fostering strong relationships with distributors and retailers. The ideal candidate should have a successful track record in the FMCG sector, particularly in the snacks or dairy category, along with excellent leadership and market management skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy and Target Achievement

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed both primary and secondary sales targets.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities and adapt strategies.
  • Define clear sales goals and KPIs for the team; monitor and ensure consistent progress.

Team Management and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of field sales representatives to achieve sales and productivity goals.
  • Assist in recruitment, training, and development of sales personnel.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance efficiency.
  • Build and manage a strong distribution network, including appointment of new distributors/stockists.
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels, efficient billing, and minimal wastage or expiry losses.
  • Build long-term relationships with key distributors, retailers, and modern trade partners.

Market Execution and Reporting

  • Ensure high market visibility and effective merchandising across all Points of Sale (POS).
  • Conduct regular market visits to monitor operations, resolve challenges, and support team members.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and performance updates to senior management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 5–6 years in FMCG sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role (preferably in namkeen/snacks/dairy products).
  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Communication: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making ability.
  • Technical: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiar with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Other: Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area and a strong drive to meet and exceed sales targets.
