Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Application Support Engineer with 3–6 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting business-critical applications on Windows Server environments, excellent SQL troubleshooting skills, and exposure to Microsoft Azure platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 application support for enterprise applications in production and test environments.
- Troubleshoot issues related to Windows Server, application services, databases, and integrations.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to analyze and resolve data-related issues.
- Monitor system performance, application logs, and alerts using standard tools.
- Perform regular health checks, job monitoring, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Work closely with infrastructure, development, and business teams for incident resolution and change management.
- Participate in deployment activities, hotfixes, and application upgrades.
- Document issue resolutions, technical procedures, and update the knowledge base.
- Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
- Support business users during UAT, production issues, and post-deployment validation.
Required Skills
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in Application Support or related IT roles.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019) administration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL), including writing queries, joins, and stored procedure analysis.
- Good understanding of IIS, Windows services, and application deployment on Windows environments.
- Experience with incident, change, and problem management processes (ITIL preferred).
- Exposure to cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure (App Services, SQL, Monitoring) is desirable.
- Familiarity with ticketing tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy.
- Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a rotational shift or on-call support schedule when required.
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Batch scripting).
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines or deployment automation tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Splunk, AppInsights, Nagios).
