Application Engineer

Overall Description of the Job

The Application Engineer satisfies customer requirements and achievements of the Company budget through the development of specific activities for product line or application Segments as below.

• To work with a sales team to professionally represent the company as a customer, gather data, understand the customer’s processes/needs and ask the right questions to define a project/customer requirement.
• Prepare and generate commercial offers, including layout drawings, technical documentation,
• and cost calculations.
• Develop value added propositions/solutions & writing Techno-commercial proposals through system layout engineering or cost estimating of necessary components or modules.
• Conduct technical training for subsidiaries and local teams to ensure a consistent understanding of solutions and standards.
• Participate in customer meetings to support the sales process and clarify technical aspects of the proposed solutions.
• Maintain and update price lists and cost databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date offer generation.
• Analyze the existing solution portfolio, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement or standardization.
• Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, and Product Management to develop or adapt solutions in line with market and customer needs.
• Support project execution by aligning with design and production teams during handover phases.
• To improve customer connect & Order conversion rate i.e. business growth of the North Region.
• Additional duties may be assigned, as required.
• Typical applications are Conveyor Automation, End of Line Conveyor Automation, Warehouse
• Automation, Robotic automation, Material handling systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelor’s degree: Mechanical Engineering
• 6-8 Experience in Automation, machine building or manufacturing industry with several years in the Application Department.
• Solid technical foundation combined with a commercial mindset, ideally developed through experience in project-based industrial environments.
• Basic understanding of general principles of industrial processes and automation, with a focus on integrated production lines and packaging equipment.
• Proficient in 2D CAD software, particularly AutoCAD.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (in particular Excel). Previous experience with an IoT platform enabling smart maintenance would be considered a plus
• Ability to travel to the customer site as necessary

KNOWLEDGE:

• Conveyor Automation knowledge, technical drawings, Product market, Project execution, Customer awareness, Customer technology, Cost estimation and Pay-off calculation, Autodesk CAD, Inventor,
• MS Office, knowledge of controls systems, robotics, LEAN Concepts a plus.
