Key Roles & Responsibilities of an Accountant

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure they comply with regulations.
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Manage vendor payments, invoices, and reconciliation.
• Track customer payments, credit transactions, and outstanding balances.
• Ensure timely collection of receivables to maintain cash flow.

3. Payroll Management

• Process employee salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Maintain payroll records and handle staff reimbursements.

4. Taxation & Compliance

• Prepare and file GST, VAT, income tax, and other regulatory returns.
• Ensure compliance with financial laws, tax codes, and government regulations.
• Assist in tax audits and financial inspections.

5. Budgeting & Cost Control

• Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Monitor expenses and suggest cost-saving measures.
• Analyze profit margins and operational costs.

6. Inventory & Cost Accounting (Retail-Specific)

• Maintain inventory valuation and stock accounting.
• Track cost of goods sold (COGS) and analyze pricing strategies.
• Work with procurement teams to optimize inventory purchasing decisions.

7. Bank & Cash Reconciliation

• Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions.
• Manage petty cash and cash flow analysis.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial statements.

8. Internal & External Audits

• Assist in internal audits and financial risk assessments.
• Ensure the company is audit-ready for external regulatory reviews.
• Maintain organized records for financial transparency.

Qualifications for an Accountant

1. Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA certification (preferred for senior roles).

2. Experience

• 1-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or corporate finance.
• Knowledge of financial software like Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle ERP.

3. Key Skills & Competencies

✅ Financial Analysis & Reporting – Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
✅ Taxation & Compliance – Knowledge of tax regulations (GST, VAT, Income Tax, etc.).
✅ Attention to Detail – Accuracy in bookkeeping and data entry.
✅ Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
✅ Proficiency in Accounting Software – Experience with tools like Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP systems.
✅ Time Management & Organization – Ability to handle multiple financial tasks efficiently.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
