Job Description

Job Purpose To manage and drive the collections strategy and operations for a designated zone, ensuring timely recovery of EMIs and minimizing delinquencies across affordable housing finance portfolios (primarily LAP, HL, etc.). The role is critical in maintaining portfolio quality, reducing NPAs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Planning & Execution Develop and implement zonal collection strategies aligned with the organizational goals. Monitor zone-specific collection KPIs, including bucket-wise resolution, roll-back rates, and overall delinquency control. Coordinate with central analytics to identify trends and high-risk segments. 2. Team Management Lead, train, and mentor a team of Area Collection Managers (ACMs), Collection Officers, and third-party collection agencies. Allocate targets and review performance regularly to ensure productivity and compliance. 3. Collections Operations Oversee collections for soft buckets (0–30 DPD) and hard buckets (60+ DPD), including NPA and write-off recovery. Monitor field collections, skip tracing, and legal recovery processes such as SARFAESI. Liaise with legal teams to initiate recovery under regulatory frameworks when required. 4. Agency & Vendor Management Empanel and manage third-party collection agencies across the zone. Ensure proper training, SOP compliance, and ethical recovery practices. 5. Reporting & MIS Provide accurate and timely MIS reports on collection performance to management. Highlight risks and propose mitigation strategies proactively. 6. Compliance & Audit Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines, internal collection policies, and fair practices code. Prepare for audits and implement corrective actions based on audit findings. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Bucket-wise collection efficiency Reduction in NPA % Legal recovery resolution rates Agency productivity & compliance Cost of collections Qualification & Experience Graduate/Postgraduate in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent. 8–12 years of experience in collections, preferably in affordable housing finance or NBFC. Strong exposure to field collections, legal recovery, and team management across geographies. Skills & Competencies Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and decision-making ability. In-depth knowledge of the housing finance sector and collections-related legal processes. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned zone.
