Warehouse Manager
Position Overview:
As a Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and organization of the warehouse facility. Your main objective is to ensure that all processes run smoothly, inventory is properly managed, and safety standards are upheld. You will lead a team of warehouse unskilled labour, arranging the extra labour if required, coordinate logistics, and implement best practices to optimize warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Lead and supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, productivity, and accountability.
Inventory Management:
Develop and implement inventory control procedures to accurately track incoming and outgoing goods.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing storage costs.Conduct regular stock audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Operational Efficiency:
Streamline warehouse processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and safety.Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and technology to enhance accuracy and performance.
Logistics and Shipping:
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
Collaborate with logistics to optimize delivery schedules and minimize costs.Ensure accurate and timely documentation of shipments, including customs clearance when necessary.
Health and Safety:
Uphold safety regulations and create a culture of safety awareness among warehouse personnel.
Conduct regular safety inspections and implement measures to eliminate potential hazards.Provide proper training on handling equipment and materials to minimize accidents.
Facility Management:
Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of the warehouse facility.
Manage equipment repairs and replacements to ensure smooth operations.Plan and optimize the use of available warehouse space.Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure warehouse performance.
Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, shipping/receiving activities, and overall efficiency.Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role, demonstrating successful team management and operational excellence.Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics management.Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) ( SAP ) and other relevant softwareExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Knowledge of health and safety regulations in warehousing.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.As a Warehouse Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining a well-organized and efficient warehouse, contributing significantly to the overall success of the company's supply chain and customer satisfaction.
