Position Summary:

The Vice President of Operations will oversee all core operational functions across the U.S. and international markets. This role is responsible for managing import/export workflows, leading department heads, driving process improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing scalable systems and SOPs. The ideal candidate brings deep freight forwarding expertise, strategic leadership, and a track record of building high-performing, cross-functional operations teams.

Core Objective:

To lead company-wide logistics operations, optimize departmental performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a scalable infrastructure that supports business growth and service delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations across Import, Export, Drayage, and Warehousing functions
• Develop and execute strategic operational plans aligned with organizational goals
• Lead and mentor department heads, driving performance, accountability, and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, FMC, TSA, and other relevant regulatory bodies
• Standardize SOPs and implement scalable systems and operational frameworks
• Define and monitor KPIs; analyze performance data to drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Compliance departments
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors, carriers, and key clients
• Support expansion into new U.S. regions and international trade lanes
• Champion automation, digital transformation, and cost-efficiency initiatives

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of senior leadership experience in freight forwarding or logistics (U.S. market)
• Previous experience as VP, Director of Operations, or an equivalent strategic operations role
• Deep knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations, warehousing, drayage, and customs processes
• Strong proficiency with logistics systems including TMS, ERP, and digital freight platforms
• Demonstrated success in building, scaling, and optimizing logistics operations teams
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and analytical skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Deep understanding of operational risk, compliance, and regulatory frameworks
• Experience working in fast-paced, performance-driven logistics environments
