Unit Head

Job Title: Unit Head – CRGO Steel Division

Location: Vadodara
Department: Manufacturing / Operations
Reports to: Director
Experience Required: Minimum 12–15 years in CRGO Steel Industry,

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the entire operations of the CRGO Steel Unit, ensuring strategic growth, process efficiency, production excellence, quality adherence, and profitability while maintaining a safe and sustainable work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Oversee end-to-end operations including production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and HR for the CRGO unit.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, yield, and quality in line with global CRGO standards.
• Plan capacity expansion and process optimization projects to meet growing business needs.

2. Production Management

• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production targets and ensure achievement with minimal downtime.
• Ensure strict adherence to CRGO processing parameters such as decarburization, annealing, and rolling consistency.

3. Quality & Compliance

• Lead initiatives to ensure highest quality standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
• Coordinate with R&D and Quality Control teams to reduce defects and improve magnetic properties (HiB, laser scribing, etc.)

4. Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team including Production Managers, Engineers, Maintenance, and Quality Heads.
• Drive a performance-oriented culture through KPI tracking and continuous skill development.

5. Cost & Resource Optimization

• Drive cost optimization through energy efficiency, waste reduction, and yield improvements.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, raw materials, and utilities.

6. Safety & Sustainability

• Implement and monitor strict safety protocols, environmental compliance, and sustainability practices.
• Promote a culture of safe and responsible production.

7. Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with marketing, sales, logistics, and finance teams for order planning, execution, and dispatch.
• Interact with senior leadership for strategic planning and performance reporting.Key Skills & Competencies:
• In-depth knowledge of CRGO steel manufacturing processes (e.g., pickling, cold rolling, annealing, coating)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
• MBA or management qualification (preferred)
• Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities
• Process improvement and lean manufacturing expertise
• ERP system familiarity (SAP preferred)
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
