Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment & Underwriting

• Review and evaluate insurance applications, proposals, and supporting documents.
• Assess risks associated with applicants and determine coverage eligibility.
• Decide terms, premiums, and coverage limits based on risk evaluation.
• Ensure underwriting decisions comply with company policies and industry regulations.

Policy Management

• Draft and issue policies, endorsements, and renewal documentation.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends in risk exposure.
• Review and update underwriting guidelines as required.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with sales, claims, and relationship management teams to support business growth.
• Provide clear explanations of underwriting decisions to internal stakeholders and clients when required.
• Assist in training junior staff on underwriting best practices.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations and company compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting activities and approvals.
• Participate in audits and risk reviews as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in

  Business, Finance, Economics, Insurance, or related field

  .
• Minimum

  2 years of underwriting experience

  in life, health, or general insurance.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
• Knowledge of insurance products, actuarial concepts, and industry regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and insurance software tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
