Transport Manager

As the School Transport Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the transportation services for the school. Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, and supervising the daily operations of school buses and other transportation vehicles to ensure the safe and efficient transport of students and staff. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining transportation schedules, managing transportation staff, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: - **Transportation Operations Management:** - Oversee daily transportation operations to ensure the safe and timely transport of students and staff. - Develop and implement transportation schedules and routes to optimize efficiency. - **Safety and Compliance:** - Ensure all transportation activities comply with safety regulations, school policies, and state laws. - Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of vehicles and transportation procedures. - **Fleet Management:** - Manage and maintain the school's fleet of buses and other vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet all regulatory requirements. - Coordinate vehicle maintenance, repairs, and replacements. - **Staff Management:** - Recruit, train, and supervise bus drivers and other transportation staff. - Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to ensure high standards of safety and service. - **Route Planning and Optimization:** - Plan and optimize bus routes to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective transportation. - Monitor and adjust routes based on traffic conditions, weather, and other factors. - **Budget and Cost Management:** - Manage the transportation budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and identifying areas for cost savings. - Analyze transportation costs and implement measures to reduce expenses. - **Emergency Response:** - Develop and implement emergency response plans for transportation-related incidents. - Ensure drivers and staff are trained in emergency procedures. - **Communication:** - Maintain clear and effective communication with school administration, parents, and transportation staff. - Address transportation-related inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. - **Record Keeping and Reporting:** - Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including schedules, maintenance logs, and incident reports. - Prepare and present regular reports on transportation performance and key metrics. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. - Proven experience in transportation management, logistics, or a similar role. - Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards. - Excellent organizational and leadership skills. - Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with fleet management. - Certification in transportation or logistics management. - Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in transportation.
